The best boutique hotel in Lisbon
Lisbon is easily one of my favourite European cities, and discovering this stylish boutique hotel made my trip even more memorable. This beautifully designed apartment hotel provides the perfect balance between Lisbon’s historic charm and modern comfort. Whether you’re planning a romantic getaway or a solo adventure, The Lisboans Hotel offers a stylish, central base for exploring everything the city has to offer.
Things to know about The Lisboans Hotel
There are 15 refurbished suites and each one feels more like a chic Lisbon apartment than a traditional hotel room. You can expect:
Fully-equipped kitchens
Local artisanal touches
Spacious living areas perfect for relaxing after a long day exploring
Natural light streaming through large windows
Whether you're staying for a weekend or a week, these apartments make you feel like a local! One of my favourite things about the hotel was their daily breakfast basket, delivered fresh each morning. Inside, you’ll find bread and pastries from a local bakery, seasonal fruits, fresh orange juice etc. It’s a delicious way to ease into your day.
Things to do in Lisbon
I’ve added all my recommendations (including the below) on the map so you can see this relative to The Lisboans Hotel. Here are a few things to add to your Lisbon itinerary:
No trip to Lisbon is complete without indulging in pastéis de nata, the iconic Portuguese custard tarts. Sadly I can’t recall the names of all the patisseries I visited but a couple that are highly recommended are Manteigaria or the legendary Pastéis de Belém for the flakiest pastry and creamiest filling. Enjoy them warm for the best experience!
Visit LX Factory - a vibrant cultural complex packed with independent boutiques, art galleries, cool cafes, and street art. It’s the perfect place to shop for local design, grab gourmet bites and soak in Lisbon’s creative energy.
Stop for brunch at Dear Breakfast - enjoy fluffy pancakes, perfectly poached eggs, and delicious coffee.
Wander around the gorgeous neighbourhood of Alfama for cobblestone streets and pastel-hued buildings. It’s a very photogenic part of the city!
For one of the most iconic views of Lisbon (and my personal favourite), stroll to Miradouro das Portas do Sol. This scenic lookout offers sweeping views over the rooftops of Alfama. It’s especially magical at golden hour!
Escape the city buzz at the Lisbon Botanical Garden - a quiet oasis filled with exotic plants, perfect for a peaceful stroll or picnic.
