postcards from isle of wight

Hello! It’s been a little while. It’s that bliss time between Christmas and New Year so I’m using the opportunity to catch up on some photo-editing from recent trips and creating a backlog some blog posts - all whilst binging on some new Netflix favourites and finishing off the last of the cheese and crackers.

Whilst trekking to the coast in the middle of Winter is not everyone’s idea of a holiday - I personally love it. But with British weather, it can definitely be a bit hit and miss so it helps if you choose your accommodation wisely aka one with a hot tub in case of bad weather!

We stayed in a 6-person cottage in Aria Resorts in Rookley — which is a 5 min drive from Godshill Village and not too far from a supermarket. This trip was less exploratory and more about relaxing so I don’t have too many recommendations. But some of the spots that I think are worth mentioning are, Freshwater Bay (great spot for sunset too!), Compton Beach, The Needles and Cook and Baker in Godshill for the most delicious chocolate cake.

Thanks for reading! Another seaside post to come soon from one of my favourite spots in the UK…

T.
