autumn at winkworth arboretum

If you’re looking for an autumnal day out away from London, head to National Trust’s Winkworth Arboretum in Surrey. I visited for the first time last weekend after hearing lots of good things and the autumnal colours didn’t disappoint.

It makes an easy day out from London as it’s just over an hour in total — take the train from London Waterloo to Godalming and then a short taxi ride (or bus if you time it right). If we had more time, I think we would have stayed for a pub lunch too; the recommendations from our taxi driver were Stag on the River or Red Lion.

Thanks for reading!
