airbnb review: norfolk

If you have paid attention to my Instagram bio, you may have spotted that I have intentions of posting a blog post a week. It’s been nearly a month since my last one (oops) and it’s safe to say it’s been a busy month! With three staycations, the Euros, Wimbledon and a busy work life all in the month of July, I’ve had a lot going on so I’ve neglected posting.

I’m hoping I can dedicate a bit more time going forwards as it feels like the backlog of posts I want to share is quickly building. So, I’m starting with an Airbnb review of the home that I stayed at during my trip to Norfolk. Whilst I’m a complete sucker for a boutique hotel, the best ones can sometimes leave a big hole in your bank account. So, I do often stay in Airbnbs as an affordable alternative and usually if I’m with a larger group. And some of them I think are worthy of sharing!

the space

The home itself was really beautiful, with high ceilings and minimalist interiors. It was super spacious and the living area and kitchen were by far the highlights - hence all the photos! There’s also outdoor space and you can go for long walks if you fancy it. You’ll note the sun made an appearance during our stay (for all of 30 minutes…) and the evening light in the garden was so pretty.

However, the bedrooms were fitted with the minimum i.e. beds and bedside tables so overall they were a bit basic and with no real wardrobe space (albeit the master room had an en-suite and TV) but if you’re like me and you live out of your suitcase when you’re away, that’s not a deal-breaker.

We stayed in “Eastward Skies” which sleeps six but if you’re a larger group, you could also try book out the adjoining property, “Westward Skies”.

location

The house is located in Roughton so I’d recommend this airbnb if you’re able to drive. With a car, the location was perfect as it was a 10-15 min drive from seaside towns Cromer and Sheringham (also a Tesco superstore here) but also 15 mins from the prettiest village, Holt. If you’re happy to drive further, it’s about 45 mins to Holkham Beach, which I’m sure you will have heard of given it’s voted as one of the best beaches in the U.K.

Thanks for reading and I hope you enjoyed an airbnb review!

T.
