A wellness retreat in Scotland

If you’ve been following along on my socials, you’ll know that I spent a wholesome weekend in Scotland at the start of the month. The trip was in collaboration with Larch Cabin and the Caledonian Sleeper (both very kindly gifted).

Caroline and Andy, the pair behind the beautiful cabin, are also co-founders of hinidas. They organise and run bespoke fitness retreats in the beautiful Scottish countryside, which includes a two-night stay at their cabin. Their ethos is to incorporate the natural world to nurture your physical and mental health and wellbeing. As part of my stay, I got a taster of a retreat and it genuinely felt SO good for the soul.

A little bit more about the retreat…

  • The retreat provides an immersive environment solely focused on health and wellness, allowing you to break away from routine and dedicate concentrated time to your wellbeing. You can see an example itinerary here.

  • It’s open to individuals or couples and includes personalised expert training and a carefully designed itinerary and activity programme to meet your goals. Example activities include running, body conditioning and yoga.

  • You can explore the stunning Scottish landscape through guided activities and refreshing outdoor exercises that offer a whole new perspective on staying active. After my taster session, I genuinely felt rejuvenated, less stressed and motivated to work out how I can incorporate more activity in to my day-to-day.

  • You’ll also get to spend 2 nights in Larch Cabin Scotland; a private, self-contained luxury eco-wood cabin - see more photos below or have a look at my full experience of staying at the cabin here.

  • And you’ll receive all the ingredients to cook yourself a delicious and nutritious home-made meal.

A little bit more about the cabin stay…

As part of the retreat, you can disconnect from technology and enjoy a 2-night stay in a cosy cabin. If you’ve seen my previous blog post, you’ll know all about the cabin already. In short, it’s a serene getaway experience nestled in the Scottish countryside. You’ll be surrounded by breathtaking views and be encouraged to live at a slower pace - I couldn’t recommend it enough!

A few things to note:

  • There is a modern kitchenette with an electric ceramic hob, fridge freezer and a full range of cooking utensils. You’ll be provided with the ingredients to make nutritious meals as part of the retreat too.

  • There is no central heating but there is a wood-burning stove that keeps the cabin warm, toasty and authentically rustic. There are also hot water bottles if you need extra warmth, which we made the most of. I’d recommend taking thick socks and slippers if you choose to visit in autumn/winter.

  • It’s next door to the hosts’ house which is super helpful if you need any assistance during your stay but this doesn’t compromise on your privacy.

  • In addition to the private verandah for outdoor dining, the cabin is situated within its own enclosed garden and is complete with fire-pit & bbq; guests can also enjoy their own secluded woodland hammock area.
