20 photos of Lisbon, Portugal
The first thing I like to do before any creative project (whether personal or commissioned) is make a mood board for as much creative inspiration as possible. This usually involves me spending a lot of time on my Pinterest, saving lots of photos and pins that inspire me. Although the internet and algorithms are very much favouring video content, I’m still very fond of a good old photo. SO, I’ve decided to start a series of blog posts that hopefully resemble a Pinterest board and will be for inspiration purposes.
This post features some beautiful spots in Lisbon that are perfect for photographing, creating content or just visiting.
If you’re looking for recommendations for hotels, food and things to do in Lisbon, you can find more on my Lisbon Instagram guide.
4 tips for photographing Lisbon:
Alfama is Lisbon’s “old town” and I went back a few times in my 4-day trip just because it was the most beautiful neighbourhood in Lisbon. Every alley, street and corner is full of colour and character. You won’t be short of photo spots here.
There are SO many miradouros (viewpoints) you can go to and we definitely didn’t tick as many off as we could have! But Miradouro das Portas do Sol was a particular favourite of mine. The view was stunning at sunset and there’s also a cafe to buy drinks.
The architecture in Lisbon is beautiful and you’ll find lots of beautiful (and photogenic) tiles and colours around the city. So try to explore as much as you can by foot.
You can also find equally as much creative inspiration in some of the local shops such as A Vida Portuguesa, various at LX Factory and Tropical Bairro.
I hope you found some inspiration in this post and I’m excited to share the next in the series soon!
