hotel review: the pilgrm

A big part of my travel content is capturing the places I stay in and the little details that really make a hotel special. As travel opens up, I hope to explore and capture more unique spaces around the UK so it only felt natural to extend how I share those experiences…to a blog review as well as just visuals.

These hotel reviews will likely be short and sweet to sum up the highlights of my stay as I’m hoping the photos will tell the rest of the story.

the pilgrm

So, I’m starting with The Pilgrm - a boutique hotel in centre of London (Paddington to be precise). Being a Londoner means I wouldn’t typically choose to stay in a London hotel but The Pilgrm made it really difficult not to! Last year, they ran a month-long campaign where they offered a limited number of their rooms for the price of the date e.g. on the 10th of the month, you paid £10 etc. So, thanks to my pal Georgia, I managed to secure a large room for £22! And even better - all proceeds were donated to Macmillan Cancer Support.

my thoughts

Check-in was smooth, customer service was exceptional from start-to-finish and the bed was SO comfy! The interiors were eclectic as the room was stripped back and minimal but the lounge was vibrant and featured some incredible work from local artists. There was also access to a pantry for tea, coffee and a magazine selection.

I can also highly recommend the food - whilst we didn’t indulge in a full-blown breakfast this time, I had visited the restaurant for their infamous sticky toffee pancakes previously and they were just *chef’s kiss*.

One thing I would say is that because our room was facing the road, the streets were a little noisy at night with the occasional siren or so. But that’s maybe to be expected in the middle of the city. Luckily, I’m not a light sleeper so it didn’t bother me but if you are, make sure you're prepared!

Other than that, I really can’t fault this stay! It’s got everything you need and nothing you don’t - which is exactly their aim.

exploring nearby

Arguably one of the best things about this hotel is its location. It’s within walking distance to some of my favourite spots in London including Hyde Park, Little Venice and Marylebone. If you would like recommendations for food, drinks or shops, just drop me a message.
