my everyday details - 003

I’m feeling extremely lucky and privileged to be drafting this post as I make my way to Covent Garden for an aimless wander in and out of shops, having a coffee etc.

I’ve watched so many harrowing and upsetting videos over the last week, read countless articles to make sense of what’s happening in Ukraine and have overall felt so confused, upset and angry. And what has often made me feel worse is that I have the option to just switch off my phone when it gets too distressing.

But — this is a reminder that if you’re feeling overwhelmed by the news, that’s because it is. And you shouldn’t feel guilty for regulating your consumption of it. It can help to focus on the way you can support, no matter how small or big. If you’re not sure where to start, this link for those in the UK might help. And speak to others in your community too because it’s likely they’re feeling the same as you!

This post is a reminder to take the time to appreciate and elevate the everyday joys that you are SO lucky to have right now.

Like a warm cup of tea, pancakes for breakfast or fresh flowers in your home. My creative work has always been about using photography to capture the everyday joys of life and it feels more important than ever. So, I’m making a conscious effort to not take any of it for granted and here are some that I’ve captured in the last few weeks.
