hotel review: port hotel

This time of year very much feels like a fresh start for most as we transition to the colder months. So, I thought I would try to set myself a creative goal for the start of the season as I’d like to dedicate more time posting on here. I’m aiming for a weekly blog post which is hopefully not too ambitious! I have a huge backlog of photos to share so you can live vicariously through my photos and enjoy the holiday content for a little longer…

Rewinding back to August (woops), I stayed at the stunning Port Hotel for a one-night stay. Whilst it was a short trip, it was definitely one of my favourite staycaytions! I’ve always wanted to walk the coastal path in Sussex and the location of the hotel made it the perfect spot to do this. You could walk straight from the hotel but we decided to get a 20 min bus to Beachy Head to start the walk towards Birling Gap and beyond - check out my previous post for this day on film.

We opted for their largest bedroom, which is the Studio Apartment and it definitely exceeded all my expectations. Every corner of the room was just stunning and every detail was thoughtful - the Nespresso, dreamy bathtub and Crosley record player to name just a few. My favourite part though was the sea view which was so calming first thing in the morning. You can step out onto the balcony or you can stay cosy indoors by the window. Either way, it’s definitely worth booking a room on this side of the hotel and they have 5 others that are slightly cheaper!

Unfortunately I realised when I was back in London that I completely forgot to photograph the restaurant and bar area…we only stayed for breakfast as it was included in our rate. I wasn’t blown away by the food and portion sizes were a little small so if you’re booking room only, I recommend heading to Skylark for brunch as an alternative.

Thanks for reading!
