5 autumnal spots to visit in London

I just LOVE autumn - I love all the colours, the crisp mornings and the feeling of ‘reset’ after what is usually a busy summer. There are some spots in London that just do autumn SO well and I find myself going back each year so here is a round up of 5 autumnal spots to visit in London. All photos were taken in mid October to mid November (some as late as 20th November) for reference. So if you’re planning a trip to London in autumn, make sure you have these spots on your list.

And because I get asked this question (nearly) everyday, my camera kit is linked here.

St. James’ Park and Green Park

St. James’ Park and Green Park are the epitome of autumn in London. You can do a beautiful walk around both parks. I have so many photos and narrowing it down to just three here was tough! You can also stop for a coffee or lunch at Benugo (this location is so lovely as it has views of St. James’ Lake). I recommend visiting first thing in the morning while it’s still quiet and the light is lush.

Little Venice

Little Venice is an ideal spot for a canalside stroll. You can also enjoy a canal boat ride, stop in a cosy cafe or head to Cafe Laville restaurant for some lunch or dinner. It’s an authentic Italian restaurant with views of Little Venice and has been on my list to visit for a while!

Regent’s Park

If you follow along Regent’s Canal (above), it will eventually lead you to Regent’s Park. This is a CLASSIC spot to visit in London at autumn. The Broad Walk is probably one of the most photographed as it’s lined with golden trees at this time of year. But last year I was too late and most of the leaves had fallen off so I wandered elsewhere around the park. The photo below is one of my favourites I’ve taken. I’d also recommend stopping off at Espresso Bar for a coffee break.

Primrose Hill

If you wanted to continue even further from Regent’s Park, you can walk all along the Broad Walk and eventually end up in Primrose Hill. You could walk to the top of the hill itself for views of the skyline or you could just wander in and around the residential streets a bit more to find hidden autumnal spots. It’s also a great spot for charity shop shopping. Make sure to stop by Primrose Bakery and it’s bagels.

Greenwich Park

And finally, a firm favourite of mine all year round is Greenwich Park. You get the best views of the whole city from the Royal Observatory and you’ll spot autumnal trees dotted all around the park. Head to Paul Rhodes’ bakery for a pastry and coffee after!
